Anti-DYNLT2B antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein dynein light chain Tctex-type 2B. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 142 amino acid residues and a mass of 16.1 kDa. A member of the Dynein light chain Tctex-type protein family, DYNLT2B is known to act as one of several non-catalytic accessory components of the cytoplasmic dynein 2 complex (dynein-2 complex), a motor protein complex that drives the movement of cargos along microtubules within cilia and flagella in concert with the intraflagellar transport (IFT) system. The DYNLT2B gene has been associated with the disease, Short-rib thoracic dysplasia 17 with or without polydactyly. Synonyms for this target antigen include Tctex1 domain containing 2, tctex1 domain-containing protein 2, and dynein light chain Tctex-type protein 2B. DYNLT2B gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
