Anti-H2A.B variant histone 1 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the H2AB1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 115 amino acid residues and a mass of 12.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. A member of the Histone H2A protein family, it is known to be involved with mRNA processing. Other names for this target antigen include H2A Barr body-deficient, H2A histone family member B1, and histone H2A-Bbd type 1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the bovine and chimpanzee species.
