Anti-THADA armadillo repeat containing antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the THADA gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1953 amino acid residues and a mass of 219.6 kDa. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 6 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the pancreas, adrenal medulla, thyroid, adrenal cortex, testis, thymus, small intestine and stomach. A member of the THADA protein family, it is known to be involved with the metabolism of lipids. Other names for this target antigen include Trm732 homolog, death receptor-interacting protein, gene inducing thyroid adenomas protein, and thyroid adenoma-associated protein. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
