Anti-IFTAP antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein intraflagellar transport associated protein. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 221 amino acid residues and a mass of 25.4 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. IFTAP is believed to play a role in ciliary BBSome localization, maybe through interaction with IFT-A complex. Synonyms for this target antigen include protein C11orf74 and uncharacterized protein C11orf74. IFTAP gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
