Anti-CEP43 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein centrosomal protein 43. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 399 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the CEP43 protein family, CEP43 is known to be required for anchoring microtubules to the centrosomes. Synonyms for this target antigen include FOP, FGFR1 oncogene partner, fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 oncogene partner, and FGFR1OP. CEP43 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
