Anti-cellular communication network factor 1 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CCN1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 381 amino acid residues and a mass of 42 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. A member of the CCN protein family, it is reported to promote cell proliferation, chemotaxis, angiogenesis and cell adhesion. Other names for this target antigen include CYR61 and GIG1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
