Anti-cellular communication network factor 3 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CCN3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 357 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm and is secreted. It is reported to be expressed in endiothelial cells. A member of the CCN protein family, it is known to be involved with angiogenesis and cell adhesion. Post-translational modifications have been described, including palmitoylation and glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include IGFBP-9, IGFBP9, NOV, NOVh, CCN family member 3, and IBP-9. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
