Anti-PRXII antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PRXII is a known alias name of the protein peroxiredoxin 2, encoded by the PRDX2 gene in humans. This 198-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a thiol-specific peroxidase that catalyzes the reduction of hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxides to water and alcohols, respectively. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for PRXII include HEL-S-2a, NKEF-B, and NKEFB. Western Blot is the most common application for the PRXII antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
