Anti-blos-2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the blos-2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the BLOC1S2 gene, which encodes biogenesis of lysosomal organelles complex 1 subunit 2. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and neuronal development, among other biological roles. The human version of blos-2 has a canonical amino acid length of 142 residues and a protein mass of 16 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the lysosomes and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. blos-2 is a member of the BLOC1S2 protein family.
