Anti-acpS antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target acpS is a known alias name of the protein aminoadipate-semialdehyde dehydrogenase-phosphopantetheinyl transferase, encoded by the AASDHPPT gene in humans. This 309-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the post-translational modification of target proteins by phosphopantetheine. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in fetal skeletal muscle, placenta, testis, brain, pancreas, liver and kidney.
