Anti-tank-1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target tank-1 is a known alias name of the protein tankyrase, encoded by the TNKS gene in humans. This 1327-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell division and peptidyl-serine phosphorylation, among other biological processes. It is localized to the membrane, nucleus, Golgi, and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types, with high levels in testis.
