Anti-oca8 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target oca8 is a known alias name of the protein dopachrome tautomerase, encoded by the DCT gene in humans. This 519-amino acid residue protein is reported to play a role in melanin biosynthesis. It is localized to the membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the skin and testis.
