Anti-mtlD antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the mtlD antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the BMP1 gene, which encodes bone morphogenetic protein 1. This protein is known to function in cell differentiation and proteolysis, among other biological roles. The human version of mtlD has a canonical amino acid length of 986 residues and a protein mass of 111.2 kilodaltons, although 7 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the Golgi, extracellular matrix, and is secreted of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types.
