Anti-MTSS2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein MTSS I-BAR domain containing 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 747 amino acid residues and a mass of 79.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the cerebellum and cerebral cortex. A member of the MTSS protein family, MTSS2 is known to be involved in plasma membrane dynamics. The MTSS2 gene has been associated with the disease, Intellectual developmental disorder with ocular anomalies and distinctive facial features. Synonyms for this target antigen include MTSS1-like protein, MTSS1L, I-BAR domain containing, actin-bundling with BAIAP2 homology protein 1, metastasis suppressor 1-like, and protein MTSS 2. MTSS2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
