In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 233 amino acid residues and a mass of 26.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. It is a member of the ANT/ATPSC lysine N-methyltransferase protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include family with sequence similarity 173 member B, protein FAM173B, protein N-lysine methyltransferase FAM173B, and ATP synthase subunit C lysine N-methyltransferase. ATPSCKMT gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
