Anti-PCDHA4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein protocadherin alpha 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 947 amino acid residues and a mass of 102.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the rectum, hippocampus, gallbladder, cerebral cortex, and cerebellum. PCDHA4 is known to be involved with cell adhesion and nervous system development. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include PCDH-alpha-4, ortholog of mouse CNR1, ortholog of mouse CNR1, KIAA0345-like 10, and KIAA0345-like 10. PCDHA4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, bovine and chicken species. Some PCDHA4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
