Anti-RESF1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein retroelement silencing factor 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1747 amino acid residues and a mass of 194.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. RESF1 is reported to play a role in the regulation of imprinted gene expression, regulates repressive epigenetic modifications associated with SETDB1. Synonyms for this target antigen include GET, KIAA1551, UTA2-1, gonad expressed transcript, uncharacterized protein C12orf35, and C12orf35. RESF1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
