Anti-Hug antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Hug is a known alias name of the protein ciliogenesis and planar polarity effector complex subunit 1, encoded by the CPLANE1 gene in humans. This 3197-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in ciliogenesis. It is localized to the membrane of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
