Anti-VARS antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target VARS is a known alias name of the protein valyl-tRNA synthetase 1, encoded by the VARS1 gene in humans. This 1264-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the attachment of valine to tRNA(Val). It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for VARS include G7A and NDMSCA. Western Blot is the most common application for the VARS antibodies listed below. Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
