Anti-BANF antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BANF antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NF2 gene, which encodes NF2, moesin-ezrin-radixin like (MERLIN) tumor suppressor. This protein is known to function in cytoskeleton organization and brain development, among other biological roles. The human version of BANF has a canonical amino acid length of 595 residues and a protein mass of 69.7 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include ACN and SCH.
