Anti-MUCL3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mucin like 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 517 amino acid residues and a mass of 56.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the lung, esophagus, stomach, rectum, skin, cervix, testis, kidney, uterus and small intestine. MUCL3 is believed to modulate NF-kappaB signaling and play a role in cell growth. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include diffuse panbronchiolitis critical region 1, diffuse panbronchiolitis critical region protein 1, and mucin-like protein 3. MUCL3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some MUCL3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunofluorescence is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Western Blot is also a common application.
