Anti-INSYN1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein inhibitory synaptic factor 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 293 amino acid residues and a mass of 31.9 kDa. It is notably expressed in the heart muscle, colon, and cerebral cortex. A member of the INSYN1 protein family, INSYN1 is a known component of the protein machinery at the inhibitory synapses, probably acting as a scaffold. Synonyms for this target antigen include UPF0583 protein C15orf59 and inhibitory synaptic protein 1. INSYN1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. These INSYN1 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
