Anti-RAB5IF antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein RAB5 interacting factor. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 137 amino acid residues and a mass of 15.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and ER. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in embryonic stem cells and differentiated neuronal cells. A member of the EMC6 protein family, RAB5IF is a known component of the multi-pass translocon (MPT) complex that mediates insertion of multi-pass membrane proteins into the lipid bilayer of membranes. Synonyms for this target antigen include obligate partner of TMCO1 insertase, rab5-interacting protein, respirasome complex assembly factor 1, uncharacterized protein C20orf24, and GEL complex subunit OPTI. RAB5IF gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some RAB5IF antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunofluorescence is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
