Anti-MACO1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein macoilin 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 664 amino acid residues and a mass of 76.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and ER. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Macoilin protein family, MACO1 is reported to play a role in the regulation of neuronal activity. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include TMEM57, transmembrane protein 57, and MACOILIN. MACO1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the MACO1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Flow Cytometry are also common applications.
