Anti-cct-8 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target cct-8 is a known alias name of the protein chaperonin containing TCP1 subunit 8, encoded by the CCT8 gene in humans. This 548-amino acid residue protein is a known component of the chaperonin-containing T-complex (TRiC), a molecular chaperone complex that assists the folding of proteins upon ATP hydrolysis. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
