Anti-Plasmolipin antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the PLLP gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 182 amino acid residues and a mass of 20 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. A member of the MAL protein family, it is suggested to be involved in myelination. Other names for this target antigen include TM4SF11, plasma membrane proteolipid (plasmolipin), transmembrane 4 superfamily member 11 (plasmolipin), and PMLP.
