Anti-OMgp antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target OMgp is a known alias name of the protein oligodendrocyte myelin glycoprotein, encoded by the OMG gene in humans. This 440-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell adhesion, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features O-glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the testis, hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and caudate.
