Anti-SEF antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SEF antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the IL17RD gene, which encodes interleukin 17 receptor D. This protein is reported to be a feedback inhibitor of fibroblast growth factor mediated Ras-MAPK signaling and ERK activation. The human version of SEF has a canonical amino acid length of 739 residues and a protein mass of 82.4 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the Golgi and cell membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types.
