Anti-SLC26A7 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 26 member 7. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 656 amino acid residues and a mass of 72.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the endosome. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in tonsillar high endothelial venule endothelial cells (HEVEC), placenta and in testis, expressed in a subgroup of basal cells in the epididymal ducts. A member of the SLC26A/SulP transporter (TC 2.A.53) protein family, SLC26A7 is known to act as a sodium-independent DIDS-sensitive anion exchanger mediating bicarbonate, chloride, sulfate and oxalate transport.
The SLC26A7 marker can be used to identify Type A Connecting Tubule Intercalated Cells, Transitional Principal-Intercalated Cells, Type A Collecting Duct Intercalated Cells, and Outer Medullary Collecting Duct Intercalated Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include solute carrier family 26 (anion exchanger), member 7, sulfate anion transporter, sulfate anion transporter 2, and anion exchange transporter. SLC26A7 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some SLC26A7 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
