Anti-Nav1.2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Nav1.2 is a known alias name of the protein sodium voltage-gated channel alpha subunit 2, encoded by the SCN2A gene in humans. This 2005-amino acid residue protein is known to mediate the voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability of excitable membranes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated, ubiquitinated, sumoylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the kidney, cerebral cortex, and cerebellum. Other synonyms for Nav1.2 include BFIC3, BFIS3, and BFNIS.
