Anti-STAT antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the STAT antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SOAT1 gene, which encodes sterol O-acyltransferase 1. This protein is known to function in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis and macrophage derived foam cell differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of STAT has a canonical amino acid length of 550 residues and a protein mass of 64.7 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the adrenal gland and duodenum. Other names for this target antigen include ACACT, ACAT, and ACAT-1. Indicated applications for STAT antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
