Anti-galectin like antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the LGALSL gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 172 amino acid residues and a mass of 19 kDa. Other names for this target antigen include HSPC159, galectin-related protein, galectin-like protein, lectin galactoside-binding-like protein, lectin, galactoside binding like, and GRP. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some galectin like antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
