Anti-TMEM79 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane protein 79. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 394 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi and lysosomes. It is reported to be expressed in the epidermis of the skin. TMEM79 is said to contribute to the epidermal integrity and skin barrier function. Synonyms for this target antigen include mattrin. TMEM79 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TMEM79 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
