Anti-ZMPSTE24 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein zinc metallopeptidase STE24. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 475 amino acid residues and a mass of 54.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and ER. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Peptidase M48A protein family, ZMPSTE24 is known to be involved with the metabolism of lipids. The ZMPSTE24 gene has been associated with the disease, Mandibuloacral dysplasia with type B lipodystrophy. Synonyms for this target antigen include FACE1, HGPS, PRO1, RSDM1, STE24, Ste24p, CAAX prenyl protease 1 homolog, and FACE-1. ZMPSTE24 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some ZMPSTE24 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
