Anti-ASB6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ankyrin repeat and SOCS box containing 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 421 amino acid residues and a mass of 47.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Ankyrin SOCS box (ASB) protein family, ASB6 is a suspected substrate-recognition component of a SCF-like ECS (Elongin-Cullin-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Synonyms for this target antigen include ankyrin repeat and SOCS box protein 6. ASB6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some ASB6 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
