Anti-MHBD antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The MHBD antigen is another term for the human protein hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 10, encoded by the HSD17B10 gene. The protein is known to be a mitochondrial dehydrogenase involved in pathways of fatty acid, branched-chain amino acid and steroid metabolism. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 261 residues and a mass of 26.9 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and it is widely expressed across many tissue types. The MHBD protein is a member of the Short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) protein family. Other alias names for MHBD include 17b-HSD10, ABAD, and CAMR.
