Anti-Phospholipase A2 group VI antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PLA2G6 in humans. The gene may also be known as iPLA(2)beta, iPLA2, PNPLA9, CaI-PLA2, GVI, and 85/88 kDa calcium-independent phospholipase A2. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 89.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
