Anti-Tissue factor pathway inhibitor 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene TFPI2 in humans. The gene may also be known as PP5, REF1, TFPI-2, placental protein 5, and retinal pigment epithelium cell factor 1. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 26.9 kilodaltons in mass. The TFPI2 marker can be used to identify Corticomedullary Thymic Epithelial Cells.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
