Anti-PAX1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein paired box 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 534 amino acid residues and a mass of 55.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. PAX1 is known to be a transcriptional activator. The PAX1 gene has been associated with the disease, Otofaciocervical syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include OFC2, paired box protein Pax-1, paired box gene 1, paired domain gene HuP48, and HUP48. PAX1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PAX1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
