Anti-RELT like 2 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the RELL2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 303 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is notably expressed in spleen, thymus, testis, peripheral blood leukocytes, brain and placenta. A member of the RELT protein family, it is reported to induce activation of MAPK14/p38 cascade, when overexpressed. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Other names for this target antigen include RELT-like protein 2 and receptor expressed in lymphoid tissues like 2. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. These RELT like 2 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
