Anti-PI4K2A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase type 2 alpha. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 479 amino acid residues and a mass of 54 kDa. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the PI3/PI4-kinase protein family, PI4K2A is known to be involved with Golgi organization. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination and palmitoylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase type II (PI4KII) and phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase type II-alpha. PI4K2A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of Pi4k2a antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
