Anti-THAP5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein THAP domain containing 5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 395 amino acid residues and a mass of 45.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the heart. THAP5 is known to have sequence-specific DNA-binding activity and can function as transcriptional repressor (in vitro). Post-translational modifications have been described, including protein cleavage. Synonyms for this target antigen include THAP domain-containing protein 5. THAP5 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. These THAP5 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
