Anti-PLPP3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phospholipid phosphatase 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 311 amino acid residues and a mass of 35.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the PA-phosphatase related phosphoesterase protein family, PLPP3 is known to be involved with Bergmann glial cell differentiation and blood vessel development. Post-translational modifications have been described, including N-glycosylation.
The PLPP3 marker can be used to identify Deep-Layer Near-Projecting Neurons.* Synonyms for this target antigen include LPP3, PAP2B, PPAP2B, VCIP, PAP2 beta, and Dri42. PLPP3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PLPP3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
