Anti-Beta-1,4-N-acetyl-galactosaminyltransferase 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene B4GALNT1 in humans. The gene may also be known as GalNAcT, GALGT, GalNAc-T, SPG26, beta-1,4 N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 1, and GD2 synthase, GM2 synthase. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 58.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
