Anti-PKC alpha antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene PRKCA, or 'protein kinase C alpha' in humans. The 672-amino acid protein is a member of the Protein kinase superfamily, AGC Ser/Thr protein kinase family, PKC subfamily. The cellular localization is predicted to be cytoplasmic, nuclear, mitochondrial and membrane-associated.
