Anti-STEAP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target STEAP is a known alias name of the protein STEAP family member 1, encoded by the STEAP1 gene in humans. This 339-amino acid residue protein is a reported metalloreductase that has the ability to reduce both Fe(3+) to Fe(2+) and Cu(2+) to Cu(1+). It is localized to the endosome of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for STEAP include PRSS24 and PRSS24. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for STEAP antibodies.
