Anti-HEY2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein hes related family bHLH transcription factor with YRPW motif 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 337 amino acid residues and a mass of 35.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the HEY protein family, HEY2 is reported to be a downstream effector of Notch signaling which may be required for cardiovascular development. The HEY2 marker can be used to identify The Pulmonary Artery Smooth Muscle Cells and Blood Vessel Smooth Muscle Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include GRIDLOCK, GRL, HERP1, HESR2, HRT2, bHLHb32, hairy/enhancer-of-split related with YRPW motif protein 2, and CHF1. HEY2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
