Anti-CGI-10 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CGI-10 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the COQ6 gene, which encodes coenzyme Q6, monooxygenase. This protein is known to be a FAD-dependent monooxygenase required for the C5-ring hydroxylation during ubiquinone biosynthesis. The human version of CGI-10 has a canonical amino acid length of 468 residues and a protein mass of 50.9 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria and Golgi of cells. CGI-10 is a member of the UbiH/COQ6 protein family.
