Anti-caprin-2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the caprin-2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CAPRIN2 gene, which encodes caprin family member 2. This protein is known to function in cell differentiation and the regulation of cell growth, among other biological roles. The human version of caprin-2 has a canonical amino acid length of 1127 residues and a protein mass of 125.9 kilodaltons, although 9 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the caudate and colon. caprin-2 is a member of the Caprin protein family.
