Anti-CTSO antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cathepsin O. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 321 amino acid residues and a mass of 36 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the lysosomes. It is reported to be expressed in all tissues examined. A member of the Peptidase C1 protein family, CTSO is known to be involved with proteolysis. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include CTSO1. CTSO gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the CTSO antibodies listed below. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
